Castello di Potentino

For the last 14 months or so I’ve been working on a book project with the Castello di Potentino in Tuscany. After 6 visits so far I feel I’m just beginning to uncover the life of this extraordinary estate. There never seem to be less than 20 people sitting down to eat at meal times, comprising a mixture of students, children, musicians, film makers, harpsichord makers, doctors, surgeons, fashion designers, farmers, butchers, chefs, beekeepers, product designers, wine makers, museum curators, literary agents, authors, singers and journalists. One of my favourite subjects are the volunteers who come to work in the kitchen, olive groves and vineyards, cooling off in the river after their labours.
